Explore Daejeon with DTO Ambassador Program
The DTO Ambassador Program is a recurring initiative organized by the SolImpact Club in collaboration with the Daejeon Tourism Organization (DTO). Traditionally held twice a year during the spring (mid-March to the end of May) and fall (mid-September to the end of November) semesters, the program has expanded in 2025 to include a special summer edition running from June 2 to August 1. Over the course of nine weeks, ten selected students will participate in a dynamic and immersive experience that blends tourism promotion, digital marketing, and cultural engagement.
This program is designed to empower students to showcase Daejeon as a vibrant travel destination. Participants engage in a wide range of activities—from exploring local attractions and attending signature events to creating multilingual promotional content tailored for global audiences. One of the program’s highlights includes active involvement in well-known local festivals such as the Daejeon 0 O’Clock Festival and the Bread Festival, where students support on-site operations, assist with interpretation for foreign visitors, and produce media content to boost visibility.
Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience in content planning, photography, video production, and event coverage. They are also involved in reviewing and translating promotional materials and collaborating on the development of marketing strategies. The program concludes with a final presentation session, where ambassadors showcase their work and share insights on how to further enhance Daejeon’s global tourism appeal.
The initiative offers students invaluable exposure to real-world campaign management and fosters cross-cultural communication skills. It also serves as a platform for building professional networks with tourism stakeholders, university staff, and fellow participants. Feedback from previous cohorts has been overwhelmingly positive, with high ratings for the program’s balance of fieldwork and creative production.
