This month we are proud to recognize Yen Nguyen, who graduated from SolBridge in 2022. She now works as an Equity Strategy Analyst at NH Investment & Securities in Seoul, South Korea. Let's tune in to hear her story of job searching, what she learned from SolBridge and what she is working on now!

Can you please introduce a little bit about yourself?

Hi, I’m Yen from Vietnam. I entered SolBridge in Fall 2018 and graduated in Spring

2022. My major was Management.

Please tell us about your company and your role

I’m currently working as an Equity Strategy Analyst in the Research Center of NH

Investment & Securities in Yeouido, Seoul. I cover Emerging Market Equity Strategy Research with a main focus on Vietnam, ASEAN, and India. My role is to provide up-to-date analysis of stock markets, macroeconomic trends, and investment strategies for our institutional and retail investors.

What has inspired you to pursue this career or industry?

I’ve always loved researching anything that interests me, so I had a general sense that something research-related would suit me. The turning point came when I took Corporate Finance with Professor Yusupov. The class was challenging, but it sparked a real interest in finance. When an opportunity to intern at my current company came up, introduced to me by CDC Professor Choi Chang-joon, I took it right away. I spent a month interning at the Global Business Planning Department and learned a great deal about the financial market, which only deepened my interest in finance. When the company later opened recruitment for university graduates (신입공채), I applied and was fortunate enough to be hired, in part because I could bring valuable insights on Vietnam’s financial market to Korean investors.

What is SolBridge to you? How did your experience at SolBridge help prepare you for your career?

SolBridge gave me the global mindset and international experience I’d always wanted since first considering studying abroad. I had the chance to meet friends and learn from professors from all over the world. Experiences ranging from Culture Day to Business Competition, along with club activities like the SolBridge Debate Society, taught me to see things from different perspectives and understand how the world works — something essential to my job of analyzing global stock markets for investment ideas.

What is your proudest achievement at work?

When I first joined, my title was Research Assistant. The path to Analyst requires two years as an RA and an initiation process. I completed my initiation on Vietnam’s Equity Strategy in October 2025 - nearly a year ago now - after three months of preparation. It involved writing an in-depth, roughly 50-page analysis report and presenting it to senior colleagues, entirely in my third language, Korean. It was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but I learned so much from it and still feel proud when I think back on it.

If you could give one message to current SolBridge students, what would it be?

Any kind of experience is your asset. Make the most of your time at SolBridge to gain as much experience as you can. You’ll learn so much about yourself and about the world, and those experiences will become your guide later in life.
