New students are encouraged to arrive at least a week before the start of the semester to attend Orientation.
SolBridge Orientation is full of events and activities that will help you to adjust in the new academic and social environment you will be entering. It is a great opportunity to become familiar with SolBridge policies and procedures, curriculum choices, student services, other aspects of campus life, to make new friends; as well as the local neighborhood. The activities during these days will include social events, tours, information sessions and Introductory Korean Language classes. We have a dedicated team to make your arrival and stay here as stress-free as possible. Bring all the questions, doubts, concerns you have, and our experienced counselors will provide you with answers and solutions. You will also meet and get to know different people within the University—from management, faculty and students—and be assigned a Peer Group Leader who will help you get organized during your first semester at SolBridge.
Orientation is not just about settling into the SolBridge and Woosong environment. Our team will take you on a short tour of the city and suggest other famous towns and cities in the region that you may want to visit while in Korea.
We hope that your time spent studying at SolBridge is academically successful and culturally rewarding.
Date
Orientation Program for the Fall 2009 semester will take place from August 26, 2009 to August 28, 2009.
You will receive a detailed schedule of the events and activities of the program on the first day of the program.
Location
Most of the information and tutorial sessions will take place at the SolBridge building. You will receive directions on how to get there.
Over the week, you will also be shown the other Woosong campuses and important buildings of the University; visit the health clinic; the off-campus fitness center; and other places of interest in and around Daejeon.
Cost
Orientation is free of cost to new students. We therefore expect you to attend as it will provide you with the perfect opportunity to make friends and get acquainted with the University and city. The University will provide the transport to and from the different locations you will visit.
You may however want to carry some money if you plan to buy souvenirs or snacks along the way. The best place to exchange currency is at the airport as the banks in Daejeon might not accept currencies of certain countries.
