Professor Barber holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering (B.S., University of Colorado, 1986), Asian Studies (B.A., University of Colorado, 1991) and Law (J.D., University of Colorado, 1995). In the 1980's he worked as a professional researcher at the Space and Flight Systems Laboratory and a Programmer / Analyst doing classified work supporting the North American Air Defense Command Post (NORAD) located under Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. After becoming a working attorney in the 1990s, Professor Barber worked internationally and in the US, including a stint at a leading Korean firm, WONJON International Intellectual Law Office, teaching for The Center for Legal Studies in Colorado, and founding his own law firm in 2000. In addition to legal work, Professor Barber enjoys writing and teaching, both in the US and abroad. His wife Sunja is a native of beautiful Daejeon City, in which SolBridge International School of Business is located.

An international educator, researcher, and consultant with a forty year long academic and professional career, and an acquired ability to look at the big picture, develop appropriate policy or program options, and effectively communicate them to decision makers students, corporate managers and policy makers through reports, lectures, and presentations. Provided consultancy services in several countries including the Bahamas, Bangladesh, Canada, India, Lesotho, and Mauritius, South Africa, and the USA to projects funded by the World Bank, the European Commission, Inter-American Development Bank, USAID, Governments of Canada, India and Bangladesh, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Ontario Hydro, Bechtel Corporation-USA, CPCS Transcom-Canada, Hickling Corporation-Canada, Partners for Rural Development-Canada, Deloitte, Touche, Tohmatsu Emerging Markets-USA, PricewaterhouseCoopers-USA, Winrock International-USA, Gruppo Soges-Italy, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and others.

Dr. Butakov started his career at the Altai State Technical University in Barnaul, Russia. He has extensive teaching and research experience in applied IT. In 2001-2005 he participated in the development of Applied IS program at the Altai Academy of Economics and Law. In 2005-2007 he was one of the pioneering faculties at the American University of Nigeria. In 2000 Dr. Butakov was recognized by Altai State Technical University with Best Young Scientist award and in 2006 he got Excellence in Teaching award from American University of Nigeria. In 2001 - 2003 he was principal researcher on two projects supported by Russian Foundation for Basic Research and Russian Foundation for Humanitarian Research.

Before coming to SolBridge, Dr. Delorme was an Associate Professor at Kuwait Maastricht Business School (KMBS), the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivieres (Canada), the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) and the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Temiscamingue (Canada). In Canada, he has been involved as Affiliate Researcher with the Chair in Management of Bio-Industries, University of Quebec at Montreal Business School. He has helped launch a Top-Executive Development Program for practitioners in the Bio-Industry field. He lectures and is an active researcher and author in organizational behavior (particularly in leadership, roles and responsibilities of Top-Executives and managerial competencies), human resources (especially recruitment, selection and training) and cross-cultural management. From 1982 to 2000 he worked as a consultant in management and training after starting up his own consulting firm based in Montreal. He is the author of internationally published books and articles, both academic and practice-oriented.

Jesse has taught in the Ukraine and Serbia for the past 3 years including 2 years as a visiting lecturer at the Braca Karic Faculty of Foreign Languages in Belgrade, Serbia and the Faculty of Entrepreneurial Management in Novi Sad, Serbia. He previously held a variety engineering positions from design, applications, and consulting engineering positions over a 16 year with a number of American and Japanese technology companies in the US.

Dr. Thomas Grisham has over 37 years of experience on domestic and international programs and projects up to US$3 billion in the power, infrastructure, transportation, education, commercial, communications, manufacturing, business development, and dispute resolution sectors. This experience has been gained in 55 countries across a variety of business models, with expat assignments in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, and part-time in India, Spain, and the UK. He has over 13 years of research and teaching experience in undergraduate, graduate, and executive education, has published numerous articles, and two books. Credentials include BE, MBA, Doctor of Project Management, PMP, PE, AAA & ICDR Panel of Neutrals, and a member of International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB).

Professor Hammett has gone from a backroom file clerk to a CEO during her 20 years on Wall Street. She has engaged in various areas of International Business as well as Information Technology Development for international firms that focused on Banking, Asset Backed Securities and Commercial Real Estate Financing and Development. She has developed innovative technological systems that have been used to strategically align global firms and their various operations as well as manage billions of dollars across international borders. Even though Professor Hammett has worked with a range of investment firms and banks, she has demonstrated that she is an Entrepreneur at heart. She currently runs an assortment of enterprises based in the U.S. where she engages in business with China, Israel and South Korea. These enterprises consist of a Consulting Firm, Publishing Company, and a Product Development firm. In addition to her business background, Professor Hammett instructs students from various countries on Entrepreneurial & Innovation, Information Technology, Emerging Markets, Managerial Decision Making Theories and Strategic Management in Dynamic Environments. Professors Hammett holds a PhD in Information Technology Management where her research discovered ways that corporations can strategically align their overall corporate objectives with innovative technology. She also obtained her MBA in International Corporate Finance as well as a BA in Political Science where her focus was on Governmental Structures and International Conflict. Professor Hammett has lived, studied and worked in 25 countries and speaks French, Italian and Spanish. Now that she lives in South Korea, Professor Hammett is adding Hangul to her linguistic abilities.

Prof. Huang has over 14 years teaching experience in the Undergraduate, MBA, EMBA and Ph.D. levels in a number of the leading universities in America, Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand.  He was elected to be the finance department chairman and worked as an advisor on finance, investment, merger and acquisition, real estate, and strategic planning and implementation to many companies and institutions both in private and public sectors, such as construction company, security firm, bank, TV, computer network, and city government. He also had work experience in investment analysis of TV talk shows and radio call in programs. Prof. Huang has published a number of books on financial derivatives, real estate investment, and real estate market and several finance papers in the leading international journals.  Currently he is working on some research projects in the area of international investment, international financial management, derivatives, real estate, and financial micro structure.

Dr. Richard G. Johnson has lived and worked in Asia for the past eleven years, in positions of marketing and recruiting for educational purposes, human resource management and education administration. Prior to his experience in education, Dr. Johnson has in-depth experience in environmental consulting and research, business development and direct-mail marketing where he has held administrative, technical and business management/development positions in private industry for twenty-six years. For most of his professional business career, Dr. Johnson has been active in an international business environment and has traveled extensively in completion of his interests. His formal education in engineering and science provided the foundation for application of research and consulting interests in education as well as in private industry.

Prof. Johnson specializes in behavior-based methods and the development of new mathematical techniques for economic investigation, particularly those related to issues of religion and economics. His research is aimed at allowing more accurate modeling of markets, as well as try to answer the question of why consumers behave as they do and buy what they do. Through his research, Prof. Johnson hopes to help improve the lives of people around the world. He speaks English (native), Italian, French, Spanish, German, and Latin, and enjoys studying other languages as well, such as Irish, Russian, Korean, and Welsh.

Philip Kang holds his Master’s degree in Music from University of Miami, and his B.M from Florida International University. He performed and toured throughout America and Korea with renowned orchestras such as Miami Symphony, Miami City Opera, and Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra. He also performed as a soloist in Vancouver Bach Society in Canada and New Arts Ensemble in Daejeon Korea. He was a faculty member at Concordia International College in Vancouver where he assisted in the design of the music history course and coached a variety of ensembles. In addition to teaching, he also works as the manager of the Student Services in SolBridge International School of Business. He enjoys duets with his wife Hyunji who is a pianist and gives regular performances as a soloist in New Arts Ensemble.

Prof. Lee’s research interests are in second language learnability and the interface of second language acquisition and second language teaching. She is also interested in applying multimedia in English language classrooms. She has lived and lectured both in the U.S and Korea, and has taught English to variety of students. Prof. Lee also uses her English language and cultural abilities in organizing the many special events and programs hosted in SolBridge International School of Business.

Leonard has served in an array of senior leadership posts-dean library and learning resources, deputy chief academic and student affairs officer, academic and student affairs officer, campus CEO and college CEO. Leonard as has served in Guatemala, Germany, United Arab Emirates and currently Korea. In order to stay in tune with his institutions' teaching mission, he has taught, on a part-time basis, business courses throughout his administrative career. His essays and reviews number over 145 and have appeared in a number of professional journals.

Before joining Woosong Education Foundation and SolBridge International, Li Shu-Shen worked for National Palace Museum on the award-winning digital museum project: Precious Ju Ware--The Infinity of Aestheticism. The project won the Grand Prix in the international competition of The 2006 Festival International de l'Audiovisuel et du Multimédia sur le Patrimoine organized by AVICOM, International Committee of ICOM (International Council of Museums) for Audiovisual, Image, and Sound New Technologies. As one of the original team members working on SolBridge International School of Business Project since the very beginning, Li Shu-Shen has designed SolBridge Peer Group Program to develop participants' cross-cultural competence and promote mutual understanding and culture exchange between international SolBridge students, as well as to assist international students to adjust themselves into the new environment. She is now planning to start her Ph.D. research on the cultivation of cross-cultural competence in the workplace.

A serial entrepreneur in non-tech fields as well, Dr. Malazgirt brings a common sense approach to small business start-ups and operations. He brings his entrepreneurial expertise and corporate experience to his students in both BBA and MBA classes such as Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, Small Business Management and Creating Ventures. He is actively involved in many of the Solbridge campus activities and acts as an adviser to Student Clubs such as the Badminton Club, K-SOL, Solbridge Radio, and the Social Services Club.

Dr. Marcellino earned his Master's degree in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and his Ph.D. degree in Applied Linguistics from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., USA. He has vast experience in teaching methodologies, assessment, and educational management. As a researcher and seminar presenter, he has a great interest in language testing, teaching, education management, and language engineering and has written a great number of papers published in linguistic journals, newspapers, and festschrifts. As a professional, he has been assigned to various posts, such as Dean of the Faculty of Education, Vice President of Atma Jaya Catholic University, Fulbright reviewer and examiner, the counterpart of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia, to mention a few.

Michele attended Brigham Young University and her studies culminated in a master's degree in Accounting. Soon thereafter, she was employed by the Ernst & Whinney international public accounting firm and specialized in tax and retirement planning for affluent executives in the oil and gas business.

In his 30 years of the private sector experience, Mr. Peterson has held positions including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, General Manager, Executive Vice President Marketing and Strategic Planning, and Vice President Business Development in enterprises ranging in size from Fortune 50 corporations to start-ups. He has also consulted to companies of all sizes in the United States, Europe and Asia on business planning, mergers and acquisitions, product pricing, and operations. Most of the companies with which he has been associated have been in the Information and Communication Technology Industry, reflecting his degrees not only in Finance and Accounting (he is also a Certified Public Accountant), but also in Industrial Engineering and Computer Science. Other industries with which he has experience include tourism, apparel, footwear, machine tool design, management training, and distance learning services. His interest in higher education as a vehicle for economic development and world peace lead him to accept adjunct faculty roles at Cardean University and Augsburg College as well as to be a Faculty Advisor to the International Scholar Laureate Program in China. His most recent experience in higher education has been as Vice President Finance and Administration as a member of the management team that launched the American University of Nigeria, the first American-style University in sub-Saharan Africa.

Pastreich was co-founder of the Daejeon Green Growth Forum, the first broad effort in Korea at the local level to bring together representatives from business, academia, and government to discuss environmental issues.

The Daejeon Green Growth Forum has been officially recognized by the Korean Ministry of the Environment and works closely with Korean research institutes, citizens groups, and industry. Pastreich writes and speaks about science policy, international relations, culture, and business.

Pastreich worked in Washington D.C. (2005-2007) as advisor to the Minister for Public Affairs and the Minister for Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and as an adjunct professor of George Washington University. Pastreich also served as editor-in-chief of the daily on-line newspaper "Dynamic Korea" of the Korean Overseas Information Service. In addition, he was director of the foreign policy think tank KORUS House run by the Foreign Ministry. Pastreich was best known in that position for the lecture series he initiated on East Asian politics and business known as the "KORUS Forum".

Articles by Pastreich include a proposal to rebuild Sichuan's Wenchuan after the devastating earthquake of 2008 as an ecocity, an article promoting Chinese international cooperation in higher education, and a discussion of US-China geopolitical relations in which he argues that analogies to the Cold War are misleading and fail to recognize both the reality of and the necessity for close US-Chinese cooperation.

Pastreich taught for eight years at the University of Illinois. He has a B.A. degree in Chinese literature from Yale University (1987), a master's degree from the University of Tokyo in comparative culture (1992) and a Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Cultures from Harvard University (1997).

Before he joined Solbridge he had established Innos Lab, a personal company, focusing on business consulting and business education. He taught various market topics in companies and universities. Also, he consulted private and public organizations.

He founded a marketing consulting/research firm, GK Consulting Co. Ltd., and been a CEO for two years. GK Consulting specialized in marketing consulting on new product development, customer needs identification and marketing strategy. Some of GK's clients are major electronic companies, FMCG companies and telcos. GK Consulting had grown with 20 consultants and enjoyed excellent reputation from clients for the quality services. LG Life and Health, number 1 FMCG company in Korea, hired GK in four consecutive new product development projects during a year.

Before GK consulting Dr. Sorn had been in consulting industry for the last eight years. Most of his consulting career is with Arthur Andersen in Korea. As a senior managing director/global partner he had devoted himself to business development and organizational expansion. Number of consultants had grown from twelve to one hundred seventy since he had joined the firm. Also, as a leading partner, I had diverse responsibilities of firm's worldwide strategy deployment, service and industry group.

Through the career he has had valuable experiences of managing professional organization, developing business and launching new services and had wide insights on various marketing issues.

Ben-Piet Venter brings his considerable experience in public relations, marketing, and advertising to the classroom. For the first twelve years of his career (beginning in 1986), he worked for a government department, a broadcasting company, one of South Africa’s leading insurance companies, and two advertising agencies, where he gathered “real-life” experience in the subjects that interest him most. Since 1997, he has immersed himself increasingly in the academic world, where he built up a reputation as a practical, hands-on lecturer with South Africa’s biggest private college group, and the Wits Business School, a leading university in Africa. Although he focused increasingly on his academic career, he has kept in touch with the realities of the business world by working closely as a consultant with global South African companies, including Tiger Brands, Barloworld, and Distell Corporation, a member of the Rembrandt group of companies. His passion is the development of human capital in the classroom by providing a link between academic theory and real-world practice. He believes that this will prepare students for the challenges of a global economy.
