Message from the Chairman of the Woosong Education Foundation
SolBridge International School of Business is just the start of our ambitious effort to build a world-class international university here in Daejeon. This school could not have come into where it is now without the tremendous efforts of the Woosong foundation, dating back to the ashes left behind by the Korean War.
I take great pride in the achievements of the Woosong Foundation over the past fifty-two years, which parallel perfectly the astounding accomplishments of Korea in rebuilding itself and then taking the lead in innovation over that period. The achievements of Woosong Foundation and Woosong University have always been intertwined with Korean history and culture. The Korean work ethic has made possible our focus and indefatigable striving. Today Korea is the 11th largest economy in the world. We weathered an economic crisis in the nineties that would have brought many other countries to their knees. The tenacity, innovation, and enduring work ethic of Koreans made this country into the Asian dynamo it is today, and allowed us to adapt to new challenges.
The Woosong Foundation stands at the forefront of international education in Korea. Through our proud history of more than fifty years in education, we have built international networks giving us a truly global perspective.
