Asian Business
The Asia Institute places great emphasis on addressing the needs of international business in the Asian region. It supports efforts to conduct research on the topics most relevant to business in East Asia today. Together with businesses from throughout Asia, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations, the Asia Institute promotes a positive and truly global business environment.

The Asia Institute is currently engaged in the “Post-2008 Asian Finance Project,” seeking to bring together critical figures in finance to address current challenges for business in an age of reduced capital.

The three fields of focus for the Asia Institute in business are finance, logistics and marketing.

1. Finance

The Asia Institute conducts research on the evolution of Asia's financial markets with a focus on its implications for economic growth at the private and public sectors, industry, national, and global level. The impact on the business environment of increased financial inter-dependence in the current age is a major issue for all businesses in Asia. The Asia Institute will offer accurate and timely analysis of this multifaceted and rapidly developing business environment. The issues of transnational regulation and corporate governance will also be considered. The Asia Institute has recently launched a "Finance Post-2008 Asian Finance Project" to address the serious challenges posed to finance by the recent changes in the world economy. This project will bring together the best and the brightest to examine the present state of finance in Asia.

2. Logistics

The Asia Institute will investigate contemporary issues in regional and global logistics that impact the Asian economy such as advances in transportation, CQD (cost, quality and delivery) issues, and maritime competition and security as part of an effort to accurately assess the state of logistics today.

3. Marketing

Research at the Asia Institute on Asian marketing considers the implications of shifting values and esthetics, consumer attitudes, and receptivity. How has the tension between Eastern and Western culture evolved and what are the future prospects for regional and global marketing? Attention will be focused on the rise of the "Made in China" and "Made in India" labels and their impact on marketing.
